Air Medical uses an Helicopter for secondary transport inter hospital, ensuring safety, competence and speed.
The helicopter rescue service is operational 24 hours a day, and has the dual purpose of providing a high level of health care, together with rapid activation times.
Transport with Helicopter, is safe and significantly less risky than transport by land, as the level of kinetic solicitation is much lower.
We can land directly on the helicopter landing pads of the major hospitals and proceed immediately to the transfer.
On board the Air Medical Helicopter there is always a team of an Anaesthetist Resuscitator doctor and a Nurse, both certified as Crew Members.
By calling our Operations Centre you can find out about the costs and times of the service.
We can take care of patients suffering from different diseases by transferring them in a few hours for medium and long distance ensuring the same continuity of care and level of care that they would receive in hospital.
Our air ambulance is equipped with two intensive care stations and has modern electromedical equipment certified for aeronautical use.
In addition to domestic flights, we carry out health repatriations in favor of compatriots who for reason of work or tourism are abroad and that due to a sudden illness or accident have the need to return to their Homeland for the continuation and treatment of care.
The activation of the service is simple and fast; just call the Operations Centre and an operator will take care of every detail and immediately provide a cost estimate.
A doctor or a nurse from our staff can assist the patient on the scheduled flight, monitoring vital parameters and guaranteeing the administration of ongoing therapies, intervening in case of need.
For this type of service we have prepared a portable kit for patient monitoring and an oxygen concentrator capable of delivering oxygen up to 16 hours.
All electromedical devices are certified and authorized for aeronautical use.
The Operations Centre, on behalf of the client, takes care of the authorizations, special assistance and garrisons, including the booking and purchase of tickets.
The transport of newborns (from birth to 4 weeks) is an activity carried out by a team of specialists in neonatal anesthesia and resuscitation.
These types of transfers are particularly complex and require more time to organise. They are carried out in collaboration with the neonatal departments of the hospitals concerned.
On board the ambulance the parents of the young patient can be accommodated. The transfer of paediatric patients follows the same rules as neonatal transport.
They are entrusted to specialist personnel.
This type of transfer requires careful planning and requires an activation time of at least a couple of days.
ECMO A technique that supports vital functions through extracorporeal circulation, increasing blood oxygenation, reducing blood carbon dioxide (CO2) values, by increasing the cardiac output of the heart and acting on the body temperature.
It allows, in conditions of severe respiratory and/or cardiac insufficiency, to put to rest heart and lungs replacing ventilatory and pump function.
The transfer of patients in ECMO is performed by a specialist team and requires adequate activation time.
Air Medical was the first air ambulance company in Europe to transport patients with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity.
The experience gained has allowed the definition of specific protocols, most of which have now been adopted by other operators in the sector.
The preparation of a flight for patients with MCS is complex and takes at least 4 days.
In our case study the success rate is 100% (certified data).
Air Medical provides hospitals and Public Administration with its aircrafts for the urgent transport of organs or transplant teams.
The transport is carried out with immediate activation times.
Air Medical has always been at the side in managing crisis situations, companies, private and public hospitals, international government agencies and organizations.
Between 2014 and 2015 it conducted an airlift in Libya to help the civilian population affected by the war by assisting and air transporting over 650 people injured in war in safe hospitals outside the country wounded.
The experience gained has allowed Air Medical to be a point of reference for many organizations operating abroad and in difficult theaters.
In cases where the pathology of the patient is contraindicated to the flight, Air Medical still provides for the transfer with its own ambulances located in the operational headquarters at the airport.
Ambulances are also made available to the main hospital facilities and to private citizens who may request them.
Every day a mobile resuscitation centre with a crew consisting of a driver, a nurse and a specialist doctor in resuscitation or emergency is always ready for operational use.
Every citizen should have easy and cheap access to medical air transport.
We are committed to ensuring this through the creation of a corporate culture based on adequate risk management in compliance with laws, regulations and the code of medical ethics, according to international guidelines.

The range of action or range of operation, is the maximum distance that can be covered by the aircraft without the need for intermediate stops.
The example below shows the operating range of our fully loaded ambulance aircraft.
THE GEOGRAPHICAL AREA OF COVERAGE IS THE WHOLE OF EUROPE, NORTH AFRICA AND THE MEDITERRANEAN BASIN.
BY MAKING INTERMEDIATE STOPS FOR REFUELLING, THE FLIGHT CAN CONTINUE FOR A SIMILAR DISTANCE. HYPOTHETICALLY, IT IS POSSIBLE TO TRAVEL AROUND THE WORLD WITH A SERIES OF STOPOVERS.
The air ambulance has a dedicated health cell that faithfully reproduces two intensive care stations. It can therefore transport up to two patients at the same time in complete safety and with the same level of care and standards of care received in a hospital intensive care unit.
Air Medical provides some flights at special rates. These are transfer or return flights based on fixed dates. If you find a solution that meets your needs, please do not hesitate to contact us.
